Tiger Woods

April 13, 2022

Tiger Woods has had an unrivaled competitive career since going professional in 1996. His on-course accomplishments—106 world titles and 15 majors—have paralleled his off-course triumphs.

TGR is Woods’ multi-brand organization, which includes TGR Design, a golf course design company; The TGR Foundation, a charity foundation; TGR Live, an events production company; and The Woods Jupiter, an upmarket sports restaurant.

Woods has 82 PGA TOUR wins, which matches him for the most in history with Sam Snead. Among his major victories are five Masters Tournaments, four PGA Championships, three U.S. Open Championships and three British Open Championships. When Tiger won his second Master’s in 2001, he became the first golfer to win all four professional major titles at the same time.

Woods became the youngest person to complete the career Grand Slam of major tournaments when he won the 2000 British Open at St. Andrews. He was only the fifth person in history to accomplish it, joining Ben Hogan, Gene Sarazen, Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus. Tiger was also the first major championship winner of African or Asian ancestry, having won the Masters at just 21 years, three months, and fourteen days. The victories in the 2000 U.S. Open and 2001 Masters were by record margins of 15 and 12 shots, respectively.

He holds the record for most career victories and money on the PGA TOUR among active players.

Despite being unable to play for the bulk of 2016, Woods made headlines as an entrepreneur and humanitarian. The TGR Learning Lab in Anaheim celebrated its tenth anniversary in February, and it also has satellite locations in Washington, DC, Philadelphia and Stuart, Florida. In October, the Tiger Woods Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary with a magnificent celebration at the New York Public Library, with Woods and Nike’s Phil Knight in attendance.

The Woods Jupiter celebrated its one anniversary (the restaurant debuted in August 2015), while Golf Digest and Golf Magazine/Sports Illustrated named TGR Design’s Bluejack National course near Houston, Texas, Best New Private Course.
